A MULTILINGUAL CHILDREN'S BOOK BY (POST-)MIGRANT ASSOCIATIONS AND THEIR CHILDREN
The mother tongue is the language of the heart, of feelings, of the emotional sphere. It takes us back to our roots, to our traditions and often also to stories of people who have emigrated from their own country to find happiness elsewhere.
The project „Lived multilingualism - a journey into one's own migration history“ aims to give children, young people and parents from Stuttgart's migrant associations, including UAKS e. V., the opportunity to discover and share their own migration history. The aim of the project is to produce a multilingual children's book designed by the children and young people themselves. The book is to contain five different languages in order to honour the diversity of people in Stuttgart.
5 countries and 5 languages: the central theme of the book is a journey through different countries. At the same time, a reference to Stuttgart - the city in which we live - is to be created.
The project is being realised by Forum der Kulturen e.V..
