This postcard project was created in collaboration between the IPSI - Institute for Psychosomatics and Trauma Therapy in Khmelnytsky and the psychological DIM„ network“ in Stuttgart, which is largely run by refugee psychologists.
At the centre of the project is the question: What does home mean to you? Is it a place, a feeling, a colour or a certain object? Who do you associate your home with?
Children from Ukraine - both internally displaced persons in Khmelnytskyi and refugee children currently living in Stuttgart - were invited to draw their own personal idea of „home“. The children's drawings are complemented by short sayings and thoughts written by psychologists from the DIM network. They too have had to leave their homes and homeland and have tried to express in these words what home means to them today.
With this postcard campaign, we would like to draw attention to the fate of refugee children, their experiences, dreams and the profound importance of stability and psychological support. Because although they are on the run, their longing for a home remains alive. Artists: Children from Khmelnytskyi and Stuttgart; Art-therapeutic support: Olena Trutnieva and Natalia Gupal; Design and layout: Olena Vsielienskaia; Organisation: Tyshchenko Veronika and Afina Albrecht.
The project was realised with the kind support of the Community Foundation Stuttgart and the Robert Bosch Foundation realised.
