Lecture and discussion with journalist Irina Peter

The Russian aggression against Ukraine on 24 February 2022 will soon mark the second anniversary of the war, which has been going on for almost ten years. Since the Russian attack two years ago, Germany has supported Ukraine with almost 28 billion euros in the form of humanitarian aid, direct payments and weapons. The German population has also provided enormous support. At the beginning of 2024, however, parts of the German population and politicians seem to be tired of Russia's war and the willingness to help Ukraine is declining.
What is the current mood in Germany with regard to Russia's war in Ukraine? What explains the reduced willingness to help in Germany? How important is German military aid? What alternative forms of support are realistic in order to end the war? We would like to discuss these and other questions with the journalist, podcaster, author and former town clerk of Odesa Irina Peter discuss - and with you!
With this event, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom is helping to raise awareness of the goals of the 2030 Agenda adopted by the United Nations in 2015, particularly in the area of human rights and the rule of law. It is organised in cooperation between the Baden-Württemberg regional office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and the Ukrainian Studio for Culture & Sport e. V. instead.
